On Sunday 3rd April 2016 we held our first ever charity Edipaws Dog Show in aid of the RSPCA and the Medical Detection Dogs and what an incredible day it was…The sun came out and with a fabulous selection of stalls, hot food, a raffle and cartoonist it was more like a summer fate. Everywhere I looked there were happy, smiley faces and wagging tails and as the show progressed people and pets brandishing their shiny rosettes with pride.
We were so incredibly lucky to have the Sacconejollys as our judges who donated their entire Sunday to do a sterling and incredibly hard job of selecting the winners of all 10 classes. They individually met every dog and thought hard about every decision they made. Poor Anna was even in tears at one point, it really was so hard to choose and to her they were all winners!
I could talk about the edipaws dog show all day…because (on a personal note) it has always been a dream of mine to do it, and I am moved to tears at how many people turned up, travelling from far and wide, including customers, friends and family and the most charming selection of the public who we had the pleasure of meeting, who all donated and supported. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the staggering support I had from our sponsors, donating prizes ranging from fit bits, £100’s of pounds in vouchers, to a weeks holiday on the Isle of Wight! Not to mention all of the stewards, donating their weekend to setting up and rushing around keeping the day ticking over beautifully. I joke with my family, but to me it was about as exciting as a wedding day should be.
